Will artificial intelligence use all our electricity?

Electricity demand linked to artificial intelligence (AI) is set to double, or even quadruple by 2030, according to the latest report from the International Energy Agency (IEA). The figures are alarming, particularly for the EU, which has pledged to halve its carbon emissions by then. So do we really have enough energy to power the AI revolution?
