Ukraine celebrates its 34th Independence Day from Soviet Union

Ukraine is marking its 34th Independence Day this Sunday, commemorating its formal break from the Soviet Union on August 24, 1991. A day earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky and other officials observed National Flag Day, another key date in the country’s calendar.
