A century-old shipwreck off the coast of Belgium has been repurposed as a breeding ground for rare flat oysters, in a bid to restore North Sea biodiversity. As part of the EU-funded āBelreefsā project, 200,000 oyster larvae were placed in the wreckās hull in July ā marking a major step in efforts to revive a species nearly wiped out by overfishing, disease, and environmental degradation.
