It begins with a view of regular traffic on a busy highway.

A motorbike and 4×4 soon enter view in lanes next to each other.

The biker can be seen gesturing at the vehicle’s driver, although it is not clear what he was trying to say.

But in a horrifying split second, the 4×4 swerves across two lanes, wiping out the motorbike and knocking its rider onto the tarmac.

The vehicle then powers off into distance, weaving back into its original lane.

Police shared the footage as the followed up on the incident, which took place on the Highway 26 between Highway 217 and Cedar Hills Boulevard.

A driver wanted in connection to the incident was arrested later the same day.

Beaverton Police Department say that Samir Helio Pazzoto-Filho was arrested on charges of first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, hit-and-run felony, reckless driving and unlawful use of a weapon.

A tip from someone who recognised the Washington County resident’s vehicle led cops to his home.

When they arrived, they saw him driving a blue Kia Carnival, which is believed to be the same vehicle involved in the crash.

The vehicle reportedly had damage consistent with the crash.

The biker was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and has since been discharged.

His first name was revealed to be Correy in a GoFundMe set up by his sister to help with his medical and motorbike repair costs.

The sister wrote: “The impact was so severe that it launched him over 200 feet, and the force of the collision drove the gear shifter through his boots.

“Miraculously, Correy survived.

“Thanks to the kindness of nearby strangers, he was quickly transported by ambulance to the hospital and received urgent medical care.

“Despite the trauma and pain, Correy is staying positive and doing his best to recover.

“However, because the driver fled the scene, Correy is left with not only injuries but also the burden of medical bills and repairs to his totaled motorcycle.”

At time of writing, the fundraiser had gathered nearly $2,000 of its $5,000 target.

Investigators believe Pazzoto-Filho had been driving recklessly in the days preceding the crash, Oregon Live has reported.

Cops are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
