Joe Biden's granddaughter, Naomi Biden, savaged CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios's Alex Thompson on X on Monday as "irresponsible, self-promoting journalists" for their widely-promoted new book detailing the "cover-up" behind the former president's cognitive decline.
Her post came just hours after revelations that her grandfather was battling stage-4 prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
"Just read a copy of this silly book, and if anyone is curious for a review from someone who lived it first-hand: this book is political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class," Naomi Biden's post began.

"The ones who rarely enter the arena, but profit from the spectacle of those that do. Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self promoting journalists out to make a quick buck. It relies on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative that absolves them of any responsibility for our current national nightmare. All of this at the expense of a man so completely good and honest that it is impossible for these people to ever understand the why or how of it all. There are real stories to be told and one day they will be. I suspect history will reward the truth."
Naomi Biden's post was in response to one by journalist Aaron Rupar, who wrote, "Tapper and Thompson want to be the center of the conversation because it will help them sell books. But with daily assaults on our constitution by the current inhabitant of the WH, the rest of us have, or should have, more important things to focus on."
Rupar's popular newsletter "Public Notice" also slammed the book for focusing on the past when there are more pressing issues with the current White House.
"Joe Biden’s fitness for office is not the most pressing issue facing the country in 2026, or 2028," Rupar wrote. "This is trivially obvious. But the fact that the media, and some Democrats, continue to be obsessed with the last election points to some real problems going forward."
The book, "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," is scheduled to be published on May 20.
