PM Lecornu meets President Macron as budget deadline approaches

Reinstated French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu met with President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday evening to likely name of a new cabinet ahead of the Monday deadline to present a 2026 budget, and before Macron flies to Egypt for a meeting on the Gaza ceasefire. Lecornu said on Sunday he would not rule out resigning again if he felt he was unable to complete his mission.
