  • Pi Network has launched a Proof-of-Concept initiative with OpenMind, enhancing real-world utility.
  • PI Coin is anticipated to hit new highs as integration with OpenMind brings real-world production onto Pi.

Pi Network has announced a partnership with OpenMind, a company developing an operating system and open-source protocol for robots. Through this partnership, both Pi Network and OpenMind have launched a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) to train Artificial Intelligence (AI) models

Pi and OpenMind Unveil Decentralized Computing

Pi Network disclosed details about the recently launched PoC project in collaboration with OpenMind via an X post.

According to the details, the Proof-of-Concept initiative allows Pi Node operators to run computations for OpenMind. This represents the early stages of exploring decentralized computing for AI training, leveraging the distributed capacity of the Pi global node network.

The Pi consensus algorithm is designed for energy efficiency. Simply explained, securing the ledger alone does not require the full computational capacity of the entire Pi network of over 350,000 Nodes.

That leaves a massive pool of unused computing power across the network. Now, this spare capacity becomes productive as AI companies like OpenMind can rent compute from Pi Nodes.

All payments happen in Pi, creating a decentralized cloud computing market. This is a decentralized AI infrastructure that is cheaper, more accessible, and powered by a global Web3 community. In essence, Pi Network wants blockchain to power practical applications.

Meanwhile, the launch of the Proof-of-Concept project follows an earlier investment in OpenMind from Pi Network Ventures.

Crucially, Pi Network has activated its over 350,000 nodes as a decentralized AI compute network. As a result, Node operators can now earn Pi tokens for contributing compute, a new utility beyond just securing the blockchain.

On the other hand, OpenMind is building the foundational infrastructure for a world where robots and AI systems operate autonomously, securely, and collaboratively.

Implications for Pi Networks

The partnership with OpenMind holds several benefits for the Pi Network and its native token, PI. The collaboration is about preparing the Pi Network for an AI-dominated future.

Primarily, the integration would increase the utility of Pi. This will happen as AI agents and robots will need to pay, authenticate, and transact autonomously. Accordingly, Pi can be their native currency and identity layer.

Additionally, the integration brings real-world production onto Pi. As OpenMind makes economic activity interoperable, Pi can power the payments and incentives.

Together, Pi and OpenMind can provide reliable, decentralized coordination for robots. OpenMind provides the coordination layer, while Pi brings the identity, payment, and incentive layer.

Furthermore, the Pi Network is expected to see increased adoption due to its increase in real-world utility. This adoption surge could eventually lead to higher prices for PI coin.

As we discussed earlier, PI Coin recently demonstrated potential for higher prices. PI jumped over 16% in just 24 hours after Pi Network joined ISO20022.

We also examined in an earlier update that the hackathon and V23 Upgrade in Q4 could propel PI to its ATH.
