New York Mayor Eric Adams abandons reelection campaign

New York Mayor Eric Adams said Sunday he would drop his reelection bid after losing ground to Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, a self-described socialist. Adams, 65, once popular, was weakened by corruption probes and criticism over his cooperation with Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
