Moldova’s ruling pro-EU party wins election marred by claims of Russian meddling

In Moldova, President Maia Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) has won over 50% of the vote, leaving the pro-Russian Patriotic Bloc trailing with less than 25%. If results are confirmed, PAS will keep its majority in the 101-seat parliament. Following the election, Sandu warned of “massive Russian interference,” stressing that the country’s future, situated between Ukraine and Romania, hangs in the balance.
