Mansi Kasliwal becomes 1st woman to head Caltech's Palomar Observatory

Professor Mansi Manoj Kasliwal has been appointed director of Palomar Observatory, making her the first woman and second PIO to lead the facility. An internationally recognized Caltech astronomer, she is celebrated for pioneering work on explosive cosmic events and transient astronomy, including multi-messenger observations. Kasliwal also mentors researchers and champions diversity in astrophysics.
