Israel bill proposing death penalty for ‘terrorists’ clears first parliamentary vote

Israel’s parliament on Monday approved a bill in its first reading that would allow the death penalty for “terrorists,” a measure pushed by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and aimed largely at Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis.
