'If his breakfast is wrong — response is the same': Internet disgusted by GOP warmongers

Three U.S. soldiers were killed in a drone attack in Jordan this weekend, and Republicans are saying that crossing the red line means war.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) appeared to call for nuclear weapons in a post on Facebook.

“We should retaliate with the full force of American strength," she said. America's full force is a nuclear weapon.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is also ready for war.

"Target Tehran," he posted on the social media site "X."

"Hit Iran now. Hit them hard," said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), also on "X."

"The only answer to these attacks must be devastating military retaliation against Iran's terrorist forces, both in Iran and across the Middle East. Anything less will confirm Joe Biden is a coward unworthy of being commander-in-chief," said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) in a statement.

It led the public to question and outright shame some of the officials, ginning up enthusiasm for another war with no plan or exit strategy.

"This is insanity!" Reporter Yashar Ali wrote of Cornyn's comments. "This is even worse than Lindsey Graham’s tweet. Cornyn will say he is using Tehran as a metonym for the regime, but that is precisely why you don’t use metonyms during a time of heightened tensions and when the government is authoritarian. Tehran is filled with some of the most liberal people in Iran, people who are against the regime, people who rightly think they shouldn’t be attacked."

He went on to explain that there are people on the ground in Iran who are pressing for change and the last thing they should want is to alienate them.

"I realize it sounds cliche, and conservatives will say it’s some liberal thing, but language matters, especially during a time of conflict. Don’t drive away the people who want to end the regime by using imprecise language. And don’t suggest that any innocent Iranian should lose their life because of the regime," said Ali.

Pro-Trump George Balfour-Kinnear posted a 2015 interview with Anderson Cooper in which he claims Graham "just wants to bomb everybody."

Even Trump-loving Tucker Carlson and Vivek Ramaswamy posted the Cornyn and Graham tweets. The former calling them "f--king lunatics."

"For centuries, American statesmen reviled the thought of civilian deaths and war as a last resort," said Ramaswamy. "Now we have the likes of Lindsey Graham & Nikki Haley giddily calling to 'Hit Iran now & Hit them hard.' It’s disgusting & says a lot about the kind of GOP they’re trying to recreate."

Conservative Emily Zanotti explained that some of these lawmakers are just desperate for war.

"In fairness, Lindsey Graham doesn’t need a direct threat to tweet about attacking Iran. If his breakfast order is wrong, the response is the same," she posted online.

Natalie Danelishen recalled the Oct. 2023 headline from conservative Christian satire site, The Babylon Bee. "Lindsey Graham Calls On The United States To Bomb Every Country In The World."

"You have to understand," she said. "Lindsey Graham is a warmonger."
