Horror as man plunges 100ft to his death while taking a selfie on eighth floor roof of Canary Islands hotel

A MAN has died after falling 100 feet to his death while trying to take a selfie from a hotel rooftop in the Canary Islands.

The 48-year-old was on the eighth floor in the early hours of Sunday morning before the fall.

The man, who was a Canary Islands resident, had climbed railing of an apartment’s rooftop terrace to take the snapshot, police have said.

He then became unstable and fell from the roof to the promenade below at around 1.30am.

While emergency services rushed to the scene, he was pronounced dead upon their arrival.

He was with a friend at the time of the horrifying accident.

It happened in the La Puntilla area of Las Canteras.
