French doctor accused of poisoning patients to show off resuscitation skills goes on trial

French anesthetist Frédéric Pechier, accused of poisoning 30 patients, 12 of whom died, in a twisted bid to show off his resuscitation skills, goes on trial Monday. The trial in the eastern city of Besançon follows a seven-year investigation that shocked the medical community.
