France's PM faces no confidence vote, far-right getting ready for potential snap elections

France's far-right National Rally is preparing for possible snap elections, predicting Prime Minister François Bayrou's attempts to save his minority government will fail. Opposition parties plan to topple the government in a confidence vote on September 8, following Bayrou’s announcement of unpopular budget cuts for 2026.
