France demands immediate release of couple held in Iran, warns of sanctions

France on Thursday demanded the immediate release of two of its citizens held in Iran for more than three years, warning that a decision on whether to impose sanctions over Iran's nuclear programme would be "conditional on resolving this issue". The news comes a day after diplomatic and family sources said Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris had been charged with spying for Israel.
