On June 12, FIFA will launch FIFA Rivals, a blockchain-based soccer game with play-to-earn features developed with Mythical Games. FIFA Rivals Merges Fast Gameplay With Adidas Digital Rewards

Players will later be able to access Adidas equipment such as iconic jerseys, soccer shoes, and special edition match balls. Not just for style, these items can also be collected or traded, depending on how serious the player is about this game.

The fast and competitive arcade style is the main feature of FIFA Rivals. On the other hand, the blockchain system allows players to have full control over the digital assets they own.

Furthermore, this game also has a real-time PvP feature, a marketplace system, and NFT integration in the form of player cards. That way, the sensation of building a dream team feels even more real. Moreover, with the collaboration of Adidas, players are invited to enter the world of soccer that is not only visual, but also fully digital.

FIFA Builds Its Own Blockchain to Power the Future of Digital Football

However, behind this game, FIFA’s steps are much more strategic. On June 6, they officially announced the launch of their own blockchain network, built using Avalanche’s AvaCloud.

This blockchain gives FIFA full control over its own infrastructure. From a technical perspective, this will enable faster, cheaper, and easier digital transactions connected to the Ethereum ecosystem.

One application of this blockchain is the FIFA Collect platform. Through this platform, fans can own and trade digital collections that capture iconic football moments.

Whether it’s a bicycle kick, a dramatic red card, or a quirky celebration—everything can be a digital asset. Imagine having a collection of Zidane’s goals in the 1998 World Cup final, but in the form of an NFT that is legally yours.

Not stopping there, FIFA also released 0xFútbol, an Avalanche-based community project designed to bring fans closer to the digital football experience. Through the FUTBOL token, players can take part in tournament challenges, prediction markets, and other interactive missions. The prizes are of course not just entertainment, but also the potential for digital prizes that can be collected or resold.

Interestingly, according to a CNF report in March, FIFA is also considering developing FIFA Coin. This token is said to be a tool to increase global fan engagement. Although not many details have been revealed, FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that they are open to collaboration with various partners to realize this project.
