CHINA has hit back hard at Donald Trump by hiking up tariffs on the US by 84% in a major return salvo in the brewing global trade war.

Beijing blasted Washington for making a “mistake on top of a mistake” when Trump declared a 104% hike on Chinese imports at midnight.

Trump responded to the revenge tariffs on Truth Social as he said: “This is a GREAT time to move your COMPANY into the United States of America.

“ZERO TARIFFS, and almost immediate Electrical/Energy hook ups and approvals. No Environmental Delays. DON’T WAIT, DO IT NOW!”

The latest tit-for-tat power moves come after America enforced a fresh round of tariffs on around 60 nations which Trump dubbed the “worst offenders”.

He even blasted global “trade cheats” overnight as he claimed countries are lining up to “kiss my a**” to get a deal.

China topped the list as the US boosted their tariff to a staggering 104% – made up of a 20% baseline, an initial 34% increase, and then a huge 50% add on after Xi Jinping refused to back down.

China’s foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a news conference today that his nation will “never accept” America’s bullying tactics.

His comments came just after Trump’s reciprocal tariffs were confirmed.

Jian said: “The US continues to abuse tariffs to pressure China, China firmly opposes this and will never accept this kind of bullying.”

He added that the US should develop “an attitude of equality respect and mutual benefit”.

Trump has insisted the US is already benefiting from the sweeping tariffs, which he says are bringing in $2billion per day.

But despite the president’s claims that business is better than ever, the trade war has already wiped trillions off the global markets.
