  • Avalanche and Filecoin now enable on-chain smart contracts to store off-chain data with verifiable proofs.
  • The cross-chain data bridge helps developers reduce load while keeping performance high on Avalanche.

Imagine being able to store large files like audit logs, NFT metadata, or KYC documents directly on a decentralized network—without slowing down the main chain. That’s the latest collaboration between Avalanche and the Filecoin Foundation.

They’ve launched a cross-chain data bridge that allows smart contracts on Avalanche to store data directly to Filecoin, complete with on-chain verifiable proof of storage.

This move isn’t just a feature addition. Avalanche brings the speed of execution, while Filecoin provides a robust, tamper-resistant storage system. The result? A combination that gives developers more freedom to build Web3 applications without having to worry about scalability or data load. Big data can be “parked” on Filecoin, while core interactions continue to happen quickly on the Avalanche C-Chain.

Avalanche Isn’t Slowing Down Anytime Soon

However, this collaboration is just one of Avalanche’s aggressive moves to expand its footprint. The CNF previously revealed that FIFA has also chosen Avalanche as the official blockchain partner for its digital fan engagement platform.

The FIFA Collect NFT platform has even begun migrating to the Avalanche network, complete with the necessary wallet changes. If an organization as big as FIFA already believes in it, maybe it’s time we stop underestimating Avalanche’s power in the global arena.

Furthermore, Avalanche has also started to expand into the property sector. Some time ago, they partnered with Balcony, a property infrastructure company, to tokenize 370,000 deeds in Bergen County, New Jersey. The value? Around $240 billion.

This project is reportedly the largest in the US in the property deed tokenization category. With an AvaCloud-based system, the completion of property documents that usually take weeks can now be completed in a day. If in the past, deed matters felt like an endless marathon, now it’s more like riding an escalator, fast and automatic.

Art, Music, and Blockchain

Not only that, Avalanche is also being eyed by the entertainment industry. On May 20, 2025, the music platform EVEN announced that they were building a Layer 1 blockchain specifically on Avalanche. This platform wants to enable artists to release music directly to fans without having to go through a label or major distribution platform.

Imagine you are an indie singer and can release songs directly to listeners, set your own prices, and without third-party cuts. It’s not just about technology, but about creator control and independence.

The Avalanche and Filecoin data bridge can certainly be the new backbone for applications like EVEN. When artists need a place to store song files, video clips, or exclusive bonuses for fans, Filecoin is ready to accommodate them. And everything can stay connected automatically through the Avalanche network. No need to move ecosystems.

Meanwhile, as of press time, AVAX is trading at about $23.68, up 1.00% over the last 24 hours and 8.73% over the last 30 days.
